The Board of Waikari Health Care Limited has opted to fund the Fluad Quad vaccine for people over 65 who choose to have it. If you have paid to have this vaccine your account at the Health Centre will be credited.

This year there is a choice of 2 vaccines for people over 65 - one is funded and the other is not. Details of the unfunded vaccine below. Cost is $30.

For people aged 65 years old or over, influenza immunisation is very important, as the risks associated with the illness get more serious as you age.
The risk of hospitalisation, long-term disability, loss of independence and even death are all greater if you get the flu compared to a younger, healthy adult.
